BUSTED! |
Anyway, the concert was everything I wanted and more! We missed the first opening act, Emma Blackery (soz love) in favour of pre-concert cocktails. But we arrived in time for Wheatus, who were actually really good despite most of the crowd only knowing one song. When they performed Teenage Dirtbag, everyone was stood up and sung and it was so fun! Most people there were all around my age and we've grown up just knowing that song so it was pretty cool to hear it live.
There was so much excitement in the air waiting for Busted to take the stage - the atmosphere was so intense. The screams and cheers when they rose out of the floor almost matched that of those I encountered when I saw One Direction a couple of years ago, so it was pretty loud. I was surprised they opened with a new song Coming Home, but the title seemed fitting and it's actually a really good song. I won't go through the whole set list song by song but I'll put it at the bottom in case you want to recreate it on Spotify or something like I have!
A terrible quality photo of all of them! |
The crowd went absolutely crazy when Air Hostess was played and from then on, the excitement never left the room. Even when they played new tracks that nobody knew. My personal favourites were You Said No, Who's David, Thunderbirds are Go, Sleeping With The Light On, Crashed The Wedding (classic) and of course, Year 3000. I know that's most of the set list, but it was so hard to pick a favourite! I really liked Meet You There too which they did alongside a couple of others on a B Stage which was really close to where we were sat!
I'd like to take this moment to say that I was always a Matt girl and I'm sure he must have been my first celebrity crush. He was my favourite and still kind of is, but my God has Charlie grown into those eyebrows! When I saw him, I literally became the wide-eyed emoji, he looks so good! James is great too but you know you were either a Matt or Charlie gal! So whilst deep down I still love Matt, Charlie I forgive you for breaking my 10 year old heart because damnnn, you look good! *insert heart eye emoji*
Overall the whole night was amazing! I had so much fun, I had a very long Snapchat story (sorry, not sorry) and I pretty much lost my voice. I think the tour must be coming to an end now, but if you have the opportunity to get last minute tickets, I highly recommend you do. I will warn you though, they have this rather strange pig mascot which is kinda scary and makes you feel like you're in a horror film, well it did me. Especially with their 'pigsty' element to the show, having fans on the stage with them. Whilst cool, it really freaked me out as they're all wearing the pig masks and it's a lot to deal with. Maybe I'm just a scaredy cat! But they take them off after the first song and all is well and you feel 11 again!
I had such a great time and I can't wait to hear more of their new music. And hopefully there'll be more tours to come, because it was literally one of the best concerts I've ever been to.
